Stein Home Health Care is approved by the Department of Mental Hygiene, Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) to provide certain services to the developmentally challenged. We provide a variety of services to Individuals with Disabilities.
Information About Our DDA ProgramWe provide care to individuals with various conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, behavioral problems, blindness/severe visual impairment, cerebral palsy, chemical dependency (including alcoholism), cystic fibrosis, epilepsy/seizure disorder, head injury, mental disorder, intellectual disability, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, orthopedic impairment, specific learning disability, speech/language impairment, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, and other neurological impairments.

Residential Services (ALUs)
Stein provides residential services comprising of two or three bedroom apartments or homes at various parts of the County and Cities. This service allows clients to support you to live in the community and not in a facility like a nursing home or an Intermediate Care Facility. Our clients have a variety of choices based on their needs, including wheelchair accessibility. Our residential services help individuals learn the skills necessary to be as independent as possible in their own home and in community life.
Individuals learn how to stay in the community with as much independence as possible. Individuals gain skills to maximize independence with activities of daily living and to participate in community life. Individuals learn Survival skills, correct social behaviors and how to handle money and Mobility transportation training to maximize use of public transportation.
Community Living- Group Homes (Residential Services) Trial Experience
This service allows you to try out the Community Living/Residential Services. Just on a trial basis.
Day Habilitation Program
Our Day Rehabilitation program provides opportunities for our individuals to participate In a variety of activities of their choice in the community. It allows participants to develop the necessary social, coping and life skills needed for integration into the greater community. Typical activities include exploration of the community and social interactions.
Employment Services
Our Employment Services are designed to help the individual access employment and/ or explore the possibilities and impact of work. Our Employment services are designed to assist the individual with preparing, accessing and maintaining paid employment in the community. Services include but are not limited to: Follow-Along Supports, job development, Ongoing Job Supports, Follow Along Supports, Co-Worker Employment Supports. It also includes Job and task analysis activities, Work skill training, Training in social skills, Job coaching and counseling, Worksite visits, Ongoing evaluation, Monitoring Individual’s performance.
Community Development Services (CDS)
Our Community development services are activities, special assistance, support, and education to help individuals find employment and/or participate in activities in their communities. Individuals engage in activities that promote health and socialization.
Personal Supports
This is a hands-on assistance with activities of daily living e.g. bathing, dressing grooming, eating etc. These supports are provided in the Individual’s own home, family home, in the community, and/or at a work site.
Respite
This is a short-term relief service provided when the individual’s regular caregiver is absent or needs a break from daily routine. The service is provided in your home and/or community settings to meet planned or emergency situations, giving caregivers a time free from their role as care provider.
Housing Support Services
These services provide you with information about and support with getting and keeping independent housing.
Live-in Caregiver Support
This service helps cover the cost of rent and food for someone who provides supports and services to you while they live in your home.
Nursing Support Services
Based on your assessed need, this service supports a registered nurse licensed in Maryland to provide Nursing Consultation, Health Case Management and Nursing Delegation services.
Remote Support Services
This service supports your independence in your home so that you don’t have to rely on staff. Staff can be available to you as needed and check-in through technology instead of being where you are.
Transition Services
This service provides funding for certain expenses if you move from an institutional setting to a group home or from a provider operated home to your own home in the community.
Supported Living
This service supports you to use or develop new independent living skills in your own home. It includes help finding an apartment or house, roommates and supports based on your preferences and choice.
Shared Living
This service supports you to build and keep skills needed for everyday life, including spending time with others. The service supports you to share a home and life experiences with another person, a couple or a family in the community that you choose. The service is based on trust and commitment you and the person, couple or family have with each other. It includes three levels of support.
Community Living — Enhanced Supports
This service supports you to develop and keep skills needed for: everyday life, spending time with others and keeping you and others safe. It does this by providing additional behavioral supports, observation and supervision in a home rented or owned by a provider.
Community Living Enhanced Supports Trial Experience
This service allows you to try out the Community Living-Enhanced Supports. Just on a trial basis.
Career Exploration Services
This is a short-term service to help you learn new skills you will need in a competitive and integrated job you are interested in
